Rafikh ISMAIL, IDC, Green Strategic Business Unit, SOUTH AFRICA
Rafikh Ahmed Ismail, Business Analyst and Senior Account Manager at the IDC, graduated from University of South Africa in 2000. Post his tertiary education his training was in the accounting, auditing and tax arena. Rafikh has many years of auditing experience in both the private and public sector. He has since 2006 being in the investment banking arena working for this development bank i.e. IDC. His responsibilities has been mainly carrying out due diligences and deal structuring. This involved financial modeling, carrying out market and technical analysis of the business’s. The function of the development bank in these transactions varied from providing straight forward debt and working capital facilities on balance sheet to project finance transactions. Rafikh currently co-ordinates the energy efficiency cluster that rests within the Green Industries strategic business unit. He has also been involved in the funding and project finance in some of the larger IPP Renewable Energy projects.
